We got Maddie and her sister, Mystic, in September of 2000. Although Mystic became somewhat of a juvenile delinquent and was picked up by the pound one time too many, Maddie has always been sweet and obedient. She loved all animals and all people, even though she sounded ferocious when anyone rang the doorbell. (Just doing her job, right?)

Retribution!
Have you ever had a day where you were looking forward to just relaxing and doing absolutely nothing? Well, that was my plan today. Chris would be gone all weekend for Woodbadge training and the kids had to be at church this morning at 5:00 am for a temple trip to Winter Quarters. I got up at 4:30 am to make them breakfast and then went back to bed to sleep for as long as my body needed. When was the last time you were able to do that? When I finally awoke at 11:30 and looked out my window what should I see but....
...toilet paper streaming from the trees in front of my bedroom window. And not just those trees, but upon closer inspection, toilet paper gracing the trees on three sides of the house!!!
Last weekend, Marissa had all the girls from Raven Flight Corp spend the night and as part of the evenings entertainment, they TP'd all the boys in RFC. It was all in good fun, of course. They only used five rolls of toilet paper per house. She was a little ticked when we counted the TP tubes left in our yard and came up with....43 rolls!!! Overkill, I know, but you know what they say about paybacks!
We also got this strange little message on our family room window. Is this some chauvinist comment about a woman's place in the world? Marissa promises to do some investigating at school tomorrow!
The hardest part of cleaning up this mess was picking up all of the individual squares of toilet paper that the boys had spread like confetti all over the yard. We tried raking but bending over and picking them up one at a time proved to be the most efficient.
One benefit of the experience was finding a new use for the pool brush. Who knew the extension pole would come in so handy? After spending almost three hours this evening getting our yard back in order, I'd say it's time for the girls to come up with some retribution of their own...and this time, I'm helping!!!

She's Leaving Home....Again!
Let It RAIN
Mal's birthday is coming up on September 17th but she will be in Hawaii so we decided to celebrate a little early. We had dinner with the boys and then Mal, Marissa and I were off to Starlight Theater for a concert.
Mal and Chase will only be teenagers together for 12 days!!!

Lucky 13!
It seems like just yesterday that he was in 5th grade and too cool for words!
It seems like just yesterday that he was in kindergarten and celebrating Kansas' birthday with Mrs. Carlson!
